Export to a PST for an eDiscovery search fails in Exchange Server 2013

Does anyone experience this in Exchange 2013 CU23 where the E discovery shows search results but unable to export to PST. The error is similar to "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4559440/export-to-a-pst-for-an-ediscovery-search-fails-in-exchange-server-2019" but the fix is only for Exchange 2016 and 2019. did anyone fix their export issues?please share

Last successful export was done on 4/27/2020. CU 23 Upgrade was done in 6/13/2020.

The only change after CU23 was the renewal of External Certificate 2 days ago.

Thanks in advance.

Outlook / Exchange Enhancement Request

$

It would be very helpful if Outlook / Exchange allowed for a rule which would send a generic message alert to an SMS contact when messages arrive from specific people/addresses WITHOUT forwarding the message in clear text, potentially violating data exfiltration policy.

Scenario(s):

VIPS -People I WANT to respond to quickly nights and weekends.

ALERTS - System notification messages which require immediate response.

The SMS alert function allows me to do this without checking my device after hours every time a message arrives.  Instead I only check e-mail in response to an SMS message alerting me of the important scenarios.

Emails not coming through from a specific server

Emails from one server are not arriving into a users mailbox.  We are running SBS 2011 with Exchange 2013 obviously.  Firewall is passing on the email to the Exchange server.  According to the ProtocolLogs for Exchange the connection with the remote server stops after "uploading certificate".  No error message is received.  Log is as follows:

Exchange 2016 Install - Hybrid Deployment Check - The username or password is invalid

Hi,

We have exchange 2010 with Exchange Online in hybrid mode.  We are trying to install Exchange 2016 CU18 on a new server, on the setup we are getting prompted to enter a user name and password to connect to Office365:

Problem is it keeps coming back invalid username or password.  The account is right and permissions fine.  Network have confirm nothing is getting blocked, local firewall is off.

This is from the ExchangeSetup.log:

Active Sync warning

Hello,

It appears we started receiving  errors similar to the one below since last week on our Exchange Server 2016.  A staff member stated he was receiving emails normally on his PC but not on his phone.

This server has been set up since November 2019 without any issues. The default ports in the firewall were added as part of the Exchange installation.

I have seen information online that suggest doing a variety of things such as creating registry keys, change the page file to installed memory and a number of other steps indicated here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/david231/for-exchange-2010-and-2013-do-this-before-calling-microsoft

Are all of these steps really required to resolve the issue?  The KB905013 does not appear available after doing an online search

I see https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/35919.event-id-1040-on-exchange-servers.aspx about changing the heartbeat interval value in the web.config file but should this really be necessary if there hasn’t been an issue before now? Is modifying this file recommended?

Exchange 2016 CU17 Shows Incorrect Name In Add/Remove Programs

$

Hello Support,

Our Current Exchange Server 2016 (CU3) was running and last week upgraded to Latest CU17

Issue we have noticed below:

After installing Exchange 2016 CU17,we have notice that there is a cosmetic issue with how the update is listed in Add/Remove programs. In the screenshot below, note that Exchange 2016 Cumulative Update 3 is listed, but the version number is not the CU17 version number.
i.e:-

For reference the versions of the relevant CUs are shown below.  Note that the above screenshot shows the CU17 version, but the text string shows CU3.

Exchange 2016 CU3 is 15.01.0544.027
Exchange 2016 CU17 is  15.01.2044.004
as the version information shown in Exchange Management Shell is correct.  On the Exchange server, we can check the version information using something like:

Note that PowerShell shows the correct version information for CU17 – 15.01.2044.004

This issue is discussed in KB XXX “Cumulative Update 3” appears in Programs and Features after you install Exchange Server 2016 Cumulative Update 17.

Also in our vulnerability tools show CU3 in Outdated version,

Please advise

How to Have Multiple Forwarding Addresses

$
0

I have a need to have an email account (Exchange) forward email to an address that does NOT have an account in the exchange server (think Teams Channel email address), AND I need to simultaneously forward to a secondary offsite address that is not in Exchange.

It appears that I can only forward to a single email address.

A DL requires establishing a mail account for the Teams Channel email address (wasting a license).

A Shared group doesn't seem to automatically forward to all group members.

Are the Exchange gurus here aware of any other options?

Grant O365 user full access to an on-prem mailbox

Hybrid Exchange environment.  On-prem is Exchange 2016.

Prior to hybrid, I run the "add-mailboxpermission -identity reviewee -user reviewer -accessrights fullaccess" PS cmdlet to allow manager to review staff's mailbox.  The reviewee's mailbox will show up in the reviewer's Outlook.

However, this no longer works since the reviewer's mailbox migrated to O365.  The same cmdlet doesn't return any errors, and reviewer shows Full Access in reviewee's account in the EAC, but the reviewee's mailbox does not show up in the reviewer's Outlook.  Is this still possible now that the reviewer and reviewee are no longer in the same "space"?

Thanks in advance.

Hello friends...

Just trying to follow up on this previously archived thread... the contents of which have still not been resolved to my knowledge.

The thread and issue is described here:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/60aab333-0a33-4568-b2e7-a3ab0cedfc1d/search-bug-with-exchange-2019?forum=Exch2019

The bug is to do with the way search works when Cached mode is OFF.

An Email has the subject "S150757"

When searching for "S150757" I get no results BUT when I search for "s150757" I do get the expected results...

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the recent CU7???

Thank you.

Hello,

Exchange Hybrid Wizard failed with this message: No shared domain names has been detected within Exchange Online and On premises organizations

the accepted domains seems to be in both cloud and on premises ....

The only noticeable difference is the vanity domain has an asterisk in Exchange on prem.

The Exchange server is 2016 with CU17

The sync is up and running , changes in AD are synced fine to O365

any thoughts?

Renamae mailbox and reuse Primary Address

Hi All,<o:p></o:p>

We are using Exchange 2016 and Outlook 2016. We have a
requirement to rename a number of large mailboxes and then re-use
the same email address to create a new mailbox which will forward the email to an
external domain.<o:p></o:p>

My main worry is how to correctly rename the mail box
before creating and re using the primary email address in the new mailbox.<o:p></o:p>

EG I have a mailbox called MailboxA with email address
MailboxA@domain.com I need to create a
new mailbox with preferably the same name and it has to have the same email
address. So I want to rename MailboxA to "MailboxA-archive" and
change its default email address to MailboxA-archive@domain.com<o:p></o:p>

Then I will create a new mailbox called MailboxA and
add MailboxA@domian.com as its primary
address. <o:p></o:p>

When I create the new mail box I have noticed it
doesn't get an X500 address but does get a LegacyExchangeDN.<o:p></o:p>

Will I get any email routing issues as I am trying to
create the new mailbox with the same name as the original before it was
renamed? As the original had an x500 address will exchange route the primary
address to the archive mailbox rather than the new mailbox?<o:p></o:p>

Any recommendation on the best way to rename the original
mailbox so I don't have issue when creating the new mailboxes.<o:p></o:p>

Thanks<o:p></o:p>

Lee<o:p></o:p>
