I'm working on a feasibility study of Exchange single mailbox/item recovery for our product. I find that there are some third part software can extract items from .edb file , and export specific items to .pst file. But there is not public Exchange SDK about this functionality. So I want to know is there any special API be provided for third part partener about this extract .edb file? if not, are there any another way to implement this functionality?

I have a user who cannot delete an item from the trash.
When trying the user get this message
"This folder cannot be deleted. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties to check the permissions for the folder. Contact the folder owner or administrator to change the permissions. Some items could not be deleted. they are enter moved or already deleted, or access was denied."
I have tried right clicking the item and set the user as owner.
How can I verify mailbox permissions, permissions on the item.
I have a client who have moved from Office 365 to Exchange 2019 on-premise.
Mailboxes have been backed up with Veeam from Office 365 and restored to the mailboxes on-premise with Veeam.
At least one user is now complaining about issues with cancelling meetings.
When trying user is getting an error message "You are not allowed to send the message on behalf of the specified user."
It is only for meetings created when they were in Office 365.
I suspect it is a permission issue, but I cannot find a command that shows me permissioins on items in a mailabox or a command that pushes permissions from parent folder to all folders and items in the mailbox.
we are trying to install the Office 365 Hybrid Config Wizard using the Exchange Modern Hybrid Topology and then using the minimal hybrid mode
however we seem to be having an issue when it comes to last tick box it failes, on the validating hybrid agent for exchange usage
also on the hybrid agents screen, its giving us the machince which is our exchange server but the status is inactive - what does this mean?
i have tried removing the wizard and reinstalling and going through the same process again however still get the same error which is a 503 gateway time out
i have gone to this location to get the logs

Firstly, I create App permissions like that:

and followed the proposed solution by removing "Have full access to a users mailbox"- checkbox flag.
After that I'm getting 401 unauthorized, when I'm calling BindToItems.
Was it a step backwards to remove the checkbox?

We use Quests's Rapid Recovery for server backups and it handles the truncation for our Exchange environment as well (Exchange 2016, Rapid Recovery 6.4). We noticed with our public mailbox, logs get truncated down to the last 5 days, where as our other mailbox logs get removed down to the hour. Is this normal behavior for a public mailbox? Quest was not able to provide reasons for why this is happening and they believe it is a setting in our environment.

I have a weird behavior on my Exchange 2019 server.
Actually I've setup limits on the Database as below.
Checked for a few mailboxes the below configuration and everything is correct.
But when I type the command line get-mailbox -Database "mailbox name", I can see that the field ProhibitSend Quota that is not correct,
see below. Indeed I have unlimited and other values that not correspond to my configuration.
You can also see the wrong results when I type the below command for a couple of mailboxes. I don't understand why it's unlimited??
Furthermore quotas seem to work properly because users are receiving email alerts when their mailbox reachs 6.5GB.
Can you please help me to understand whether I made something wrong with my configuration or it's a bug?

I need to do a cut over migration for a customer and there is no downtime to do it. There is only about 60GB of data to move over, so my plan is to start it one morning and then have it finish the following morning (hopefully). Since I cannot plan the ending, that part is tricky.
My question is: Once I start the migration, will any new emails received by the onpremise server be migrated/synced to the cloud? i.e. if I start the migration at 8am, and User A sends and receives 100 emails, will those emails be available on 365 once the migration is done?
Also, once a migration is started, I assume users can still access their mailbox like during a hybrid migration?

Per article:
we had triggered public folder move request.
New-PublicFolderMoveRequest -Folders "FOLDER1\SUBFOLDER1" -TargetMailbox "New-Public-Folder-Mailbox"
but it got stucked on StalledDueToTarget_Processor
The size of folder is 2GB but per "Get-PublicFolderMoveRequestStatistics" it throws out it will sync/move entire (source) public folder mailbox?

I'm part of a team who manage a multi-tenant Exchange environment.
Across the board we have had some issues crop up with Exchange resource calendars with users running Outlook 2019 where management staff do not have permissions to modify appointments within these calendars.
This has recently become prevalent as we have upgraded all staff to O365 licencing for their applications - putting them onto MS Office 2019 application suite.
The usage scenario that happened recently was the office manager wanted to cancel someone's appointment in a meeting room.
After selecting the appointment in Outlook (they are visible to view), the application would freeze for 1-2min and eventually prompt that they did not have permission to access the calendar.
Testing we have completed completed so far indicates the issue is present in Outlook 2016 as well.
Oddly enough, the issue is not present or Outlook 2013 or OWA.
Have confirmed from both mailbox & calendar permission that the user has full access.
Further to this though, am confident that permissions are correct as we have confirmed via OWA the issues is not present.
Server is running Exchange 2019 (Version 15.2 Build 529.5)
Hoping anyone can provide any assistance on this issue?
Is it true that with Exchange 2019 on-premise, there is no option in natively in on premise exchange 2019 to route internal to internal emails to third party products like email DLP or other MTAs like Forcepoint email MTA. To do that, we will need tools like messageconcept ExSBR ?
If I have exchange 2013 cas/mbx servers in on-premises and want to introduce/install Exch 2019 Edge in DMZ (no exch 2013 flavor in DMZ and no Exch 2019 Mbx role in Corpnet). Would it work just fine and be supported ? Any other thing I should look out for or any suggestions?

The Calendar is only visible under "other Calendars" when I'm changing the access rights from "reviewer" to "owner" (I haven't tested through all steps in between to be honest). This wouldn't be optimal, since the calendar should only be edited by specific people.
Here is how I set the access rights right now:
Do I really need to change the default-access rights for the calendar to be visible under the shared calendars? Or am I missing something in the script?

I have the following issue.
When i send a mail it not correctly synced with the Online exchange environment.
The user is sending the mail. The mail is correctly received. It’s registered in the delivery report of the Exchange server.
But when i check the send items nothing can be found of the mail. I also have checked the outbox folder. But also the mail can't be found.
When is search for the mail message i can find the mail.
But it's not registered anywhere (NO owa of the mailbox) when i try to open the mail it won't open.
The thinks that i did is the follow.
The company where it's not working had +- 100 mail users. This is 1 users of the 100 users.
Exchange is on the following CU version.
Please advise me what i can do with this issue.

We have issue with Exchange backup due to shadow copies are getting stuck. The backup solution which we have is Symantec Netbackup solution. When we run the VSSAdmin List Writers, I see the Microsoft Exchange Writer state is 5 Waiting for Completion. Symantech team have advice to check with Microsoft since VSS is the Microsoft Product an they dont have any issue from their side. We need to delete the shadow copies which sometime results in successful back up and sometimes it fails again.
We have Exchange 2016 in our environment.

Recently we have migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. There is a specific requirement that, Is it possible to set every single Calendar Entry for a user to Private prior to a specific date ? · If this isn’t possible,
is it possible to set every Calendar Entry to Private irrespective of date ? In either instance is there any way to do this centrally rather than each user doing it individually ?
