I am writing an Outlook AddIn to outsource big attachments from emails onto a file-server. Furthermore I'm inserting a new file with references to the stored attachments.
My problem is, that the "old version" with the big attachment I am trying to outsource from the Exchange Server is still accessible about the "info tag" the email itself provides me. So I believe the original email with the big attachment is still on the Exchange Server and is stealing storage.
Is it even possible to manipulate an email without creating an backup email?
Regrettably I lack in deep knowledge of how Exchange stores and managed emails, so is there any way to get rid of the old version or prevent its creation?
