EWS Managed API – meeting request detection

Hi All,

We are currently capturing all inbox changes (created only) for selected exchange users. A question arose that I am not sure of the answer. Since we are capturing all inbox events, theoretically we should be capturing meeting requests. I am not sure how we can detect all meeting request events from the inbox folder.

The way our application works is that we capture changes (created only) to the user's inbox. We can pause, and restart capture any time we want. But with that process, I think we may miss meeting requests. Not sure if we can detect an inbox event of a meeting request after the user has accepted the meeting? We normally check for all created changes. We do not care about deleted inbox emails, but how should we handle meeting requests? We want to track meeting requests so-to-speak.

So for example, if we pause a user and disable inbox change logic. Then let's say 15 days later we re-enable that user, will we be able to detect reception of all meeting requests during the 15-day delay? For example, if a user accepts a meeting, how will we able to detect that user got a meeting request? Will we get a “deleted” change after a period of time?

Thanks, Tom
