I recently took over a position here at this company. The exchange server had 2gb left on the C drive. I had to disable windows updates and clear logs just for email to begin working again. That exchange server had since failed, but was able to recover it by just dumping the raid array into an identical machine. However I suspect this machine will soon fail itself.
I purchased a brand new server to move exchange over to, im wondering if there is any documentation anywhere where I can do a backup, then restore exchange and mailboxes to the new machine without breaking links to our Cisco VM system, client mailbox configurations, mobile phone setups, SSL cert, ect. Basically just to restore exchange 2010 on Server 2008 64 to a brand new machine and have it continue from there. Has anyone done this or can point in the direction of documentation for this?
