I originally posted this in the Exchange 2010 forum and they told me to post it over here as there is no native capability for this feature. What are our options?
Retention policy to remove all internal messages from a sender after xx days?
---
Our majority owner works at our sister company and we are discussing a retention policy for them. Each of the company's host their own on-premise Exchange topology and federation is not in use.
He has expressed a desire to have all messages he sent and which are still recoverable to be made unrecoverable after say 90 days, on all mailboxes we control. Another option he mentioned was messages only sent to specific e-mail domains. At this time I'm not clear if that would apply to only mailboxes at the sister company, or to ours as well.
I'd want the solution to be completely server-side so the staff do not have a way to workaround keeping the messages in any manner. Can this be accomplished, and if yes, can you explain the options?
