[E2013][EWS] Startdate of recurring event is one day off?

First code block below creates a recurring event, recurring every day, start date3. May 2014
Second code block: response OK
Third code block: ask for first occurrence with that ID (Exchange starts counting at 1, not 0)
Fourth block: response: 1st occurrence is on 4. May ?????

What is happening here (and how to fix)?
